Discover Frequently Asked Questions From The GEM Team
Our goal is to provide as much information as possible so that you can make an informed decision regarding your container project! There are a lot of details to consider, and we’re here to make sure there’s no guesswork in the process or outcome.
Can i specify a delivery date when ordering?
We work with our clients to develop a realistic timeframe for delivery that fits into our fluid production schedule.
What payment methods are supported?
While check is the most common, we also offer wire transfer, credit card, and in some special cases financing.
How much creativity do I have in customization?
Working with our in house engineering team, we can create essentially anything you can dream up!
What kind of flooring options do I have?
Many times clients keep the traditional marine grade plywood that comes standard with an ISO container. However we offer steel/aluminum flooring, laminate options, vinyl tiles, and even 2 part epoxy coatings.
What size containers do you offer?
GEM utilizes the three common ISO configurations which are 10', 20' and 40' structures. We can also fabricate 30' containers upon request. The traditional containers come in standard height of 8.5', or what is referred to as "high cube" which is 9.5'.
What are the delivery types you offer?
We have a strategic network of partners that deal with shipping on land and sea, nationally and internationally. Our logistics framework ensures that we can schedule delivery of your container where you need it, when you need it.
How can I get a quote for a project I'm considering?
A discovery call with our design team will lay the foundation for a rough order of magnitude (ROM) quote based off of the specs provided. Detailed quotes are available upon request, and have an upfront cost to cover the engineering services necessary to prepare the quote.
What kind of interior finishes are available?
Basic storage containers usually leave the raw corrugated steel. However, we offer several options for insulation, and can finish your interior walls with plywood, dry wall, or FRP panels - each of which is spec'd to meet your needs and the function of the container.
